NO TE AFERRES A TUS COSMÉTICOS ¡Todos Caducan!

DON'T HOLD ON TO YOUR COSMETICS - They All Expire!

You should not use expired cosmetics, whether it is moisturizers, makeup and/or sunscreen. Here's why:

Once their useful life has ended, cosmetics no longer fulfil their role. In other words, they no longer perform the effect they promised us, but instead produce other effects that are unsafe for our skin and can cause us some scares and/or surprises.

Remember! Cosmetics work with ingredients such as plants and other natural products and therefore there is a possibility that once they have expired, bacteria may appear; in addition to having lost their effectiveness.

After the expiration date, the chemical components of our products begin to react differently. Once we open the cosmetic, bacteria begin to accumulate . New reactions and bacteria can cause severe irritations and allergies.

Be careful! Some cosmetics may be past their expiration date, even if the expiration date has not yet arrived. This is because the shelf life of a cosmetic can be shortened if the product is not properly stored and cleaned. Some symptoms are a change in texture, a different smell, a change in colour and the expiration date has expired. It is essential that you store your cosmetics in a cool, dry place. Of course, the bathroom would not be the best place to store them.

The effective life of each product begins the day you open it to start using it. All products should state on their label their expiration date or how long you can use it from the moment you open it until it is no longer in use.

Sunscreens have a shelf life of approximately 3 years without being opened. Once opened, their shelf life is reduced by approximately 6 to 12 months. After the date indicated by the manufacturer, they are no longer responsible for any loss of effectiveness or side effects. It should also be noted that these products tend to suffer very sudden changes in temperature and for this reason they wear out more. For these reasons, it is not advisable to store them from one summer to the next. Check if they change colour, smell and/or texture, as this is a sign that they may be ineffective.

Expired moisturizers can cause some kind of allergic reaction such as redness, itching and/or hives on your skin. If you have any leftover cream and want to try it, do it first on a small area of your arm. Wait a reasonable few hours, even a day and if you don't notice or see a reaction, you could use it, but remember that it is not recommended.

The make-ups last approximately one year.

The mascara lasts for about three months.

Powders and compact blush , on the other hand, expire after about 24 months.

The eyeliner pencil , 1 year.

Lipstick , 12 months.

The correctors , 8 months.

Cleaning products last 6 months.

If you go beyond these dates, you may suffer from certain infections, have rashes such as acne or your skin may change color in different areas. It could become excessively dry and cause eczema or allergic reactions. Also be careful with your eyes because they can suffer infections, become inflamed and even damaged.

If you notice that you suffer from any of these symptoms, stop using it and go to a dermatologist, so that they can tell you what treatment to follow.

So, don't delay in reviewing your cosmetics and take advantage of the excuse to update them.
